Reading through the bible and Leaning from the WISDOM of the ages

Welcome to my Daily Devotion – a quiet space where I come to rest my heart in the Word of God. Each day, I begin with surrender — a reminder that life is not about me, but about Christ living in me. As I read through the Bible and lean on the wisdom of the ages, I’m learning to walk in step with those who have gone before me, following the path lit by God’s unchanging truth. Every devotion here is grounded in the King James Version and shared in the hope that it will stir your heart — as it has mine — to know Him more, and to live each day with purpose, humility, and worship.

I Drink Here Everyday

In my journey of growing closer to God, I’ve developed a personal method of devotion, I call DRINK — a simple yet meaningful way to take in the Word each day, just as our bodies need water to live. The Lord impressed this method on my heart through John 4:14 (KJV): "But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life." Just as Jesus offered the woman at the well living water, I believe our daily walk with Him must include drinking deeply from His Word — not casually, but intentionally. The DRINK method was born out of that desire: to approach God's Word not as a checklist, but as a refreshing, soul-satisfying experience that transforms us from the inside out. This method helps me not only read the Bible, but respond to it with my heart, mind, and actions. As you follow along, I invite you to take a spiritual drink each day — and be refreshed by the truth of God’s Word.

WHAT IS DRINK METHOD?

Just as our bodies require water to function optimally, our spirits need the Living Water—Jesus Christ—to thrive. By adopting the DRINK method, we acknowledge our dependence on God for spiritual sustenance. This practice encourages a daily rhythm of seeking, understanding, and applying God's Word, leading to transformation and growth in our faith journey.

D – Devotional Reading

Engage with a passage of Scripture, allowing God's Word to speak personally to your heart. This may be a whole chapter of the bible, a paragraph, a phrase, or even a single verse. Through reading, expect Him to meet you in His Word.

R – Reflection

Contemplate the meaning of the passage and what it reveals about God's character and your relationship with Him. The Word of God is like a mirror, revealing our true selves. Reflection here means allowing the Word to study and examine us — exposing the thoughts and intentions of our hearts, convicting, correcting, and comforting us. As we read the Bible, it reads us.

I – Instruction

Identify the lessons, commands, or principles God is revealing. Every Scripture carries divine instruction—whether it be a call to action, a correction to receive, or wisdom to embrace. Ask yourself: What is God teaching me today? What needs to change? What needs to grow?

Wisdom

N – Now Live It

Choose to apply God's Word to your daily life. True faith is not just hearing, but doing. Now live it means moving from knowledge to application — choosing to let God's Word actively shape your thoughts, decisions, behavior and actions each day.

K – Kneel in Prayer

Conclude your time by humbling yourself before God in prayer. Thank Him for His Word. Ask for His strength to obey and live it out. Submit your heart, mind, and life afresh to His will, knowing that apart from Him, you can do nothing.
